We love its benefits but most of us can't stand how it tastes.
LET'S TALK ABOUT WHY YOU SHOULD CARE THO.
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STUFF BECAUSE IT'S HIGHLY POTENT.
So let's start off with this PSA:
I'm not trying to freak you out of using apple cider vinegar. I'm just saying, like with everything else in this crazy world, to use it in moderation.
So, lets move on:
Apple Cider Vinegar is a type of vinegar made from fermented apple juice with yeast and bacteria added to help aid the fermentation process.
On one end Apple Cider Vinegar can reduce insulin levels, lower blood pressure etc. etc. yeah, yeah okay.
BUT
Apple Cider Vinegar is not for everyone. It can actually slow food from being digested in the lower intestine. On skin, it can actually cause burns due to its acidity. For those who are on synthetic medications it can have adverse side effects.
Do I have your attention?
Good. Let's get down to business:
PROS:
1. Lowers cholesterol
2. Helps with weight loss
3. Can help with ailments like lice and fungus because of its antibacterial properties.
4. High in antioxidants
CONS:
1. Apple Cider Vinegar can cause burns on the skin if used incorrectly.
2. Burn your throat if you have too much and are not prepared for it.
3. Erode your tooth enamel if you decide to use it as a teeth whitening agent
4. If you're on synthetic drugs like Digoxin/Lanoxin (Blood pressure medication), or any diabetic medications, it's best to consult your doctor before trying any homeopathic treatments such as use of Apple Cider Vinegar.
HEY FRED. What's that cloudy stuff at the bottom?!
I'm glad you all asked! That stuff is "The Mother" or Mycoderma aceti which is the byproduct of fermenting alcoholic liquids turning alcohol into acetic acid which helps the second phase of the fermentation process of Apple Cider Vinegar. You can learn more about what that stuff is HERE.
BE SAFE about it:
1. Start with small amounts and gradually work up to 2 tablespoons (30 ml) max per day if your health goals are such.
2. Rinse your mouth after using it to protect tooth enamel.
3. If you have ANY allergic reactions, STOP taking it IMMEDIATELY.
4. Maintain a healthy diet. Apple Cider Vinegar is acidic in nature so drink plenty of fluids and have a balanced diet of both alkaline and acidic foods/drinks in your diet. (Consult your primary care physician if you have any specific dietary issues).
There are tons of clams on the internet as to why Apple Cider Vinegar is such a beneficial ingredient. And there is truth to a lot of those claims. And it's true that "AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY". But don't treat Apple Cider Vinegar like it's the magic bullet that can cure all diseases. A healthy balanced diet and regular exercise are the best ways to help improve your health. And as I said before, if you do have any issues using Apple Cider Vinegar, speak to your doctor before using it.
Be smart about your health, do your own research on your health as with the age of the internet, the information of the world is at your fingers. And I wish all of you the best of health.
