H&W: Bulletproof Decaf Green Tea

Updated: Nov 6, 2019

This is something I made and experimented with for about a month and a half. I had bulletproof green tea and bulletproof coffee at the local coffee shops around San Diego and the North County and I am not disappointed. It was actually one of the reasons why I began researching the keto diet. BUT back to this tea.

Let's talk about that..

Why would u wanna even try this?

Well if you're on a keto diet, it staves off those dreaded hunger pangs. You know, those strong contractions of the stomach when it's empty? So it'll prevent you from snacking. AND if you're in keto, this is good too because normally with the keto diet, you're training your body to use FAT as a fuel instead of carbs anyway.

Also a note: I also chose a decaf tea because as I am personally receptive to caffeine, my metabolism as well as my energy go THROUGH THE ROOF and I actually have a tough time staying chill. SO eventually I'll start looking for something to snack on. So no bueno for me personally with the caffeine. If you're cool with a little of that tea caffeine, good for you and I will be forever salty. -_-,

SO LET'S SEE SOME BENEFITS!

Green tea benefits:

- Full of antioxidants

- Reduces inflammation

- Helps fight against cancer

- Kill bacteria and inhibit viruses like the flu.

- Reduces risk for cardiovascular disease.

What makes it "bulletproof"?

MCT oil & grass-fed ghee

In earlier posts I talked about the benefits of ghee and briefly touched upon the benefits of MCT oil.

Ghee benefits:

- Rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K

- High in omega fatty acids

MCT oil benefits:

- Helps burn fat.

- Helps protect and maintain a healthy gut flora.

Assembly Instructions:

To be honest it's REALLY easy.

1.) Steep 1 decaf green tea bag in your desired amount of hot water.

2.) Add 1 tablespoon of grass-fed ghee

3.) Add 1 tablespoon of MCT oil

4.) Blend

I say to blend it because if you STIR it, you'll have a drink that has hot decaf green tea below this layer of deceptively warm oil. (I've tried it) If you drink it like that, you'd get a mouth full of oil, then suddenly HOT green tea afterward. Yeah. Blend it.

I recommend either a stand mixer, or an immersion blender. PERSONALLY I have a Magic Bullet. I do try to be careful that the tea itself isn't SO hot that I can't hold the plastic mixing cup, but I also don't blend it for too long in my Magic Bullet because I am trying to be cautious of destroying the rubber seal on the blade end.

NOW IT'S DEFINITELY NOT FOR EVERYONE. My wife is on a keto diet as well, but with some carb allowance to avoid that terrible KETO FLU. She has also had bulletproof coffee and it's literally not her cup of coffee... She has a very particular palette and she's just not into it. And that's totally fine.

So give it a try. Let me know if you like it or not. Let me know any changes you've made to your mix. I wish all of you the best of health.
